At WSP Engineering, we are passionate about helping the younger generation make the first steps in their careers, providing them with real-world challenges and experience, which is backed up by mentoring and coaching provided by our experienced management team.
Our Engineering Graduate Scheme is completed over two years and offers graduates a first step into their engineering careers. The scheme provides candidates with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to thrive in this innovative and exciting industry.

With this in mind, we have designed our graduate scheme to deliver a comprehensive development programme where each individual will benefit from extensive behavioural and technical learning, real-world experience across all our business functions and dedicated coaching and mentoring.

Structured Learning and Development
As a participant in our Engineering Graduate Scheme, you will undergo a structured and tailored learning and development program.
Situational and behavioural skills are just as important as your technical ability, and our learning and development programmes are designed to drive both your technical and behavioural skills, focusing on collaboration, communication, presentation, business acumen and strategic thinking.
Our approach is through continuous learning and development, and you will benefit from ongoing workshops, development days, and industry-specific courses to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Real World Project Experience
Our graduates will spend time working across all of our business functions, from Project Management and Turnkey Projects to Engineering Consultancy and Health and Safety.
This experience will provide real-world, hands-on experience within these functions and a holistic overview of our business and how we operate.
Through this process, you will work alongside a wide range of our talented and experienced team, benefiting from their knowledge and experience and putting the skills and knowledge you have learned into real-world situations.
Mentorship and Coaching
Each of our graduates will benefit from a dedicated mentor throughout their graduate journey.
This mentorship will ensure getting the most out of the scheme, building on your strengths and working on areas of opportunity.
You will be supported by ongoing coaching from our team, and we welcome our graduates to provide us with feedback and their ideas.
Cross-Functional Working
Working across all of our business functions will enable you to begin building your transferable skills and knowledge toolkit.
One of the unique points of our graduate scheme is the real responsibility that we give to you from an early stage. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of critical aspects of projects and work autonomously with the guidance and support of the management team.
The practical experience, knowledge and insight gained working across multiple business functions will help guide you on what route you wish to pursue in your engineering career.
